The Business Identity checklist.

Eighteen pieces, with the questions to answer before each one. Members tick them off in the app as each comes together.
  1. 01Logo Design

    • Wordmark, symbol, or both?
    • Three brands whose logos you admire — and why.
    • Where will it appear most: deck, website, uniforms, signage?
  2. 02Brand Identity

    • Three words a buyer should use to describe you.
    • Who is your primary buyer — agency, prime, or state?
    • What do you want to look like next to a large incumbent?
  3. 03Color Palette

    • Preferred colors — and any you refuse to use.
    • Conservative and federal, or modern and technical?
    • Any colors already in use on vehicles, uniforms, or documents?
  4. 04Typography System

    • Traditional serif or clean modern sans?
    • Do your documents need to print well in black and white?
    • Any font you already use in proposals?
  5. 05Website

    • How many pages do you want (one-page, 3-5, or more)?
    • Which pages matter: Home, Capabilities, Past Performance, About, Contact?
    • Do you have a domain already, and two sites you'd like yours to feel like?
    • Who will update it after launch?

Recommended: a live company website. Buyers and primes search for you before they reply — even a one-page site with your capabilities builds trust.

  6. 06Photography

    • Team headshots, facility, equipment, or work in progress?
    • Where would a shoot take place?
    • Any site access or security restrictions we should plan around?
  7. 07Videography

    • How long should the video be, and where will it live?
    • Company overview, capability demo, or founder introduction?
    • On-camera speaker, or voiceover only?
  8. 08Copywriting

    • Which pieces need writing: website, deck, bios, capabilities statement?
    • What do you do better than competitors, in one sentence?
    • Any past performance or metrics we can cite?
  9. 09SEO Setup

    • What would a buyer type into Google to find you?
    • Which NAICS codes and services should we target?
    • What geographic area do you serve?
  10. 10Hosting Setup

    • Do you own hosting today, or need it set up?
    • Who should hold the account and billing?
    • Any security or compliance requirements from a customer?
  11. 11Imagery Direction

    • Real photos of your work, or stock imagery?
    • Field and industrial, corporate, or technical?
    • Anything that must never appear in your imagery?
  12. 12Brand Voice & Messaging

    • Formal and government-facing, or direct and plain-spoken?
    • What single message should a buyer remember?
    • Any language your industry expects — or avoids?
  13. 13Custom Domain Setup

    • Preferred domain name, plus two backups.
    • Do you already own a domain, and where is it registered?
    • Should we secure common misspellings too?
  14. 14Business Email Setup

    • How many mailboxes do you need, and for whom?
    • Naming style: first@, firstlast@, or role@ (info@, contracts@)?
    • Google Workspace or Microsoft 365?

Recommended: a company domain email (you@yourcompany.com), not Gmail or Yahoo. Contracting officers treat free-mail addresses as a red flag.

  15. 15Business Identity Setup

    • Which pieces do you already have, and which are missing?
    • What is your deadline — a bid, a meeting, an event?
    • Who signs off on design decisions?
  16. 16Social Media Setup

    • Which platforms matter: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube?
    • Who will post, and how often?
    • Do you already have accounts to clean up or claim?
  17. 17Company Presentation

    • How many slides, and who is the audience?
    • Which past performance should lead the deck?
    • Do you need a printed leave-behind version too?

A 3-4 page deck that introduces your company, capabilities and past performance — what you leave behind after a meeting with a buyer or prime.

  18. End goal

    18Capabilities Statement

    • Your top three core competencies, in buyer language.
    • Which differentiators set you apart from an incumbent?
    • Which certifications, NAICS codes and contract vehicles must appear?

The end goal of your roadmap. Every task you complete feeds this one-page document buyers evaluate in seconds.
